2010 Red Bordeaux
In 2010, Bordeaux experienced a very dry summer with almost no rain during the month of August. Producers were concerned about these drought-like conditions until light rains came at the beginning of September. A dry and warm harvest followed. The result was a small crop—small berries with thick skins. Merlot yields were down, but the Cabernet Franc came in perfectly ripe. Many comparisions will be made between 2009 and 2010, but both years have seen excellent wines from the outer regions and lesser known estates. Come in and sample a few of the early arrivals on Saturday, May 25th at both shops.
