“Nearly black in color. The nose is both delicate and powerful at the same time, red fruit, black currants, blackberries, spices, thyme and lavender. The bouquet is very elegant, rich and round. Figs, cherries, black currants, all with a great acidity. The tannins are present but very delicate.” – Marc Perrin  “The 2009 Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Pape (30% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 10% Counoise and the balance other permitted varietals) exhibits an opaque purple color as well as sweet aromas of camphor, truffles, black cherries, black currants, licorice, pepper and forest floor. “The 2009 Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc reveals the great intensity, richness and potential longevity of this vintage. Made from the same blend as the 2008 (80% Roussanne and 20% Grenache Blanc vinified in tank and wood), the 2009 sees some new oak (15%), but that component is totally hidden by copious notes of quince, honeyed citrus, peaches and apricots. Made for the eighth consecutive year by the Palette Wine Company of Snohomish, Washington, this Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold expression of Washington fruit from some of the state’s best vineyards. The balance and complexity in this wine is exceptional! A total of 400 cases were produced, and while this may sound like a lot, past history indicates that it will sell through rapidly.
