2011 For a Song Pinot Noir

The quest for a good $20 Pinot Noir led us to the 2011 For a Song Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. It was made by Stewart Boedecker and Athena Pappas using fruit from two vineyards, Holmes Gap and Walnut Hill, both located in or near the Eola-Amity AVA. It shows plenty of clean ripe Pinot Noir fruit. Nine months in French oak with lees stirring gave the wine its silky texture. Only 500 cases of this wine were produced. We recommend stashing a few in the cellar.
