Mönchhof (Monk’s House) is one of the oldest wine estates in the Mosel. It was formerly in the possession of the Kloster Himmerod, a Cisterian Abbey, and records exist dating it to 1177. Today the estate is run by the affable Robert Eymael Jr. and the holdings include superb sites in Ürziger Würzgarten, Erdener Treppchen, and Erdener Prälat. The 2010 vintage in the Mosel offers pure and truly refreshing wines that have firm acidity. They are simply delicious to drink in the spring.

Beautiful Bourgognes
It is a great time to take advantage of the many very good values to be found in 2009 and 2010 red and white Burgundy wines. These are top-notch vintages and the prices are reasonable for many delicious wines.
